Subscription packages 2018-19 - Early Bird ends 30 Sep

Drama & technology opportunity - The Fallen Governor A Roman Murder Mystery

Following on from the success of the Bradford Poisonings Victorian Drama, Alex Fellowes and Tim Bleazard bring this dramatic Roman story to life in your school - see attached flyer for further details.  Your pupils take active roles as the story unfurls, discovering clues that help them solve the mystery and find out about Roman life in Britain and tensions with the native Celts. iPads will be used by children to help them record their findings and document the experience.  If you would like to book a session please contact

Green Screen Space Adventure

This week the Curriculum Innovation team welcomed 90 Y1 pupils from Byron Primary School to the centre to experience an adventure in space.  Using green screen technology pupils were able to record their experiences of blast off, gravity and moon walking.  An exciting time was had by all and the pupils left with a memorable experience of their time in space!

Bradford Learning Network contract renewal

Leading the Primary Computing Curriculum - 19 Oct & 5 April

This is one of our most popular courses and is ideal for staff new to subject leadership or those who want to develop their present role. The role of Computing Subject Leader can be very demanding and it is important that this is clearly defi ned in each school. This two day course will enable you to clarify your role as subject lead and provide you with a range of skills, knowledge and resources to successfully fill the role of Computing Subject Leader at your school.


(e)Safeguarding in the Primary School - 2 Nov, 1 Feb, 14 Jun

This has been our most popular course in recent years as schools understand the importance Online Safety plays in Safeguarding. Whole school (e)Safeguarding sits in the area of safeguarding and expectations from the DfE and Ofsted have been documented in publications from both organisations in recent years. Early in the course we identify clear roles and responsibilities for (e)Safeguarding across the whole school ensuring there is a team of relevant staff to take responsibility rather than one individual. Over 3 days attendees will create, deliver and evaluate a detailed (e)Safeguarding action plan to meet the SWGfL Online Safety Mark standard.


 - 16 Nov

Coding is an element of the Computing National Curriculum that is often perceived as one of the harder elements to teach. This course is based around delivering the Computer Science strand of the Bradford Computing scheme of work that details objectives and progression from Y1 through to Y6. This course will seek to address any concerns that you may have may have about the complexities of programming, provide you with a plethora of engaging activities and lesson sequences that you can use in your classroom straight away.


 - 8 Feb

CEOP Command (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) is part of the UK’s National Crime Agency with a remit of pursuing and convicting online child offenders. Thinkuknow is an education programme full of resources and information for young people, parents and educators and the Thinkuknow training is delivered by CEOP trained staff. In accordance with guidance from CEOP we only train cleared professionals who will directly deliver CEOP’s products and resources to children. Therefore, we request that all delegates attending the training bring a signed, headed letter from a senior manager in their organisation. This session gives a good insight into the Thinkuknow resources available from CEOP and an understanding of how are children and young people can be sexually exploited through online interactions.


'Inside Out' Science, Technology and outdoor learning - 18 June

Many aspects of the Computing National Curriculum can be delivered effectively within the Science Curriculum raising engagement and attainment within the subject. Databases, spreadsheets and data logging can be purposefully utilised to support the collection and interpretation of real data collected through scientifi c investigations. Children can capture and combine a range of digital media to create a learning journey demonstrating their understanding in Science for themselves or to share with others.
